On the 31st of October, 2007, the monastery Holy Cross hosted ecumenical meeting on interconfessional problems. Representatives of Orthodox as well as Greek-Catholic Churches participated in the conference. Before starting the meeting, Greek-Catholic episcope being in full communion with Rome welcomed all priests while Mother Mina Badila, superioress of the monastery, asked episcope for his Episcopal blessing followed by hand-kissing. I dared to ask episcope about the intentions of his visit. He told he came to our monastery with good intentions. Some time later I understood the nature of his good intentions. He gave us the possibility to find answers to questions we could not find for years. Everyone understood his good intentions regarded PROCEEDINGS. It stands to reason that “ecumenism” should be qualified and regarded as policy not faith because interest not Truth appears to be the basic constituent of it. Many Christians, especially clerks, and the representatives of Edineţ and Briceni Episcopate and the Moldovan Metropolitanate ask themselves the same question “Who will be the Next Episcope?” His Beatitude Metropolitan does not want to talk about it so far (does not answer his phone calls); Metropolitanate secretary Vadim Cheibaş also does not show any concern about the issue (“ intending to preserve the peace of the church”); Edineţ and Briceni Episcopate in its turn supports priest Hariton. We shall try by our own to find out which candidates are running in the race. If Church representatives refuse to disclose any of the information relating nomination for the position of Edineţ and Briceni Episcopate we shall try to attain our goal by method of elimination. To the Synod of the Moldovan Orthodox Church Edineţ and Briceni Metropolitan Council is much disturbed about the new way to elect the episcope. General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops expects to hold the elections organized on the basis of number of candidates’ submitted forms.  It is unusual from the view point of Orthodox Cannon Law, especially because the spirit of previous competitive environment for elections did not have the same voluptuous character. Such environment does not respond the evangelic spirit condemning every auto –assumption of especially spiritual power. Such behavior suggests the chain of scissions. Wednesday evening scores of priests, monks and laics came to Chisinau Airport to receive the coffin transporting His Beatitude Dorimedont, Edineţ and Briceni Episcope. It took Christians, His Beatitude Anatolie (transliterated: Anatoly) and His Beatitude Justinian (transliterated: Justinian) long time to wait until they could pay the last respect to hierarch who had fallen asleep in the Lord. Annual religious procession of penitence through the streets of our city came to an end on Saturday morning. People showed tired but shining faces when reached the Metropolitan Cathedral. Friday morning a religious procession was held in Chisinau. The Community of St. Matrona was the founder and the chief organizer of the beautiful and already traditional for Christians from Chisinau municipality religious procession. The city gates have become the habitual starting point place for the event unfolded at about seven o’ clock in the morning. The religious procession was accompanied with the reading of the Acathistus of the Protective Veil of Our Lady. Yesterday Thursday, May 18, 2006 by about 5 o'clock in the afternoon about two hundred and fifty Christians had gathered in front of the cinema “Patria” as a way to express discontent toward the country’s political leaders who failed to show any reaction to the message of orthodox Christians from Moldova expressed on the part of the Metropolitanate regarding premiering of the movie in our country making blasphemy of our Savior.
